Student Showcases - 12 Week Series

Our Foundation Program

Our Student Showcase Series is part of our 12-week choreography-based foundation program, designed to build performance skills, confidence, and stage-readiness.
Students train in a dedicated routine for the full series and perform in the Student Showcase at the end.

This program is:

  • Required for anyone wishing to join our Variety Troupe (unless approved as a guest performer).

  • Focused on teaching stage flow, backstage etiquette, costume preparation, and tech rehearsal procedures.

  • Ideal for beginners and for experienced dancers wanting structured development.

We run two Foundation Series each year:
Winter and Summer — both end with Double Feature Student Showcases.

Next Series Start Date: April 6th
Summer Student Showcase: June 27th, 2026

  • Audience Capacity & Ticketing:
    – 30 tickets per show.

    – Groups larger than 6 must be split between shows OR between Set 1 and Set 2.

  • Show Minimum:
    – A minimum of 12 total acts is required to run the showcase.

  • Performer Jobs:
    – Students performing 1–2 acts will be assigned an event job such as:

  • Community Responsibility:
    – All performers must assist with set-up, tear-down, and cleaning.

  • 3 weeks from show. All acts must be submitted with song title & artist, song length with fading request, starting on or off stage at beginning and end of act, any notes for our Emcee about your act and any equipment being used or props on stage.

  • 2 weeks out. All assigned to a job will need training. Everyone will need to come to the 2 final rehearsals. Emcee and audio notes will be finalized and distributed to those people.

🌙 Freestyle Cabaret – Donation Based

Variety Show at the Park (All Ages / Outdoor)

Variety Show at the Park (All Ages / Outdoor)

The Freestyle Cabaret is our spontaneous, open-format 18+ late-night show where creativity leads the way. Performers can choose music on the spot or submit flexible piece ahead of time. It’s low pressure, high creativity, and designed to help you build confidence, improvisation skills, and stage presence.

We hand-select 6–8 solo performers for each show. Acts may include pole, chair, aerial, dance fusion, comedy movement, or any style that fits your flow. This event is free and donation-based, and performers keep their tips, helping support both the artist and the nonprofit’s mission.

Each performer submits:

  • 2–3 act ideas or styles they’d like to explore

  • Song options (or the intention to pick live)

  • A 10-second intro video with your stage name + fun fact for promotions

  • Availability for one short meetup and a few coordinating text messages leading up to the show

We hold four Freestyle Cabarets per year.
To join the lineup for the January 17th show, please apply by December 28th.
